WAS ACQUAINTED ONCE WITH A MISSIONARY FROM INDIA WHO TOLD
ME ABOUT THE GOLD MINES OVER THERE, AND HOW HE HAD WONDERED WHERE
ALL OF THE GOLD WENT THAT THEY WERE TAKING OUT OF THE GROUND, AND WHERE IT
WAS BEING SENT ? HE
SAID HE GOT THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION WHEN HE CAME BACK TO THE UNITED
STATES, AND TOURED THE FORT KNOX FACILITY, WHERE HE SAW THEM PUTTING THE
GOLD "BACK INTO THE GROUND". AROUND;
"HOW MUCH GOLD WE HAD ACCUMULATED", IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHER
NATIONS. MOST
NATIONS TODAY STILL HAVE A GOLD RESERVE, BUT ONLY A FEW STILL BACK UP
THEIR MONEY WITH GOLD, AND NONE HAVE GOLD COINS IN CIRCULATION NOW, EXCEPT
MAYBE FOR SPECIALTY COINS. I
THINK OF THE TREASURES FOUND AT SEA BY THAT MAN IN FLORIDA,
THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF GOLD COIN, BARS & BRACELETS THAT HE
FOUND, IT STAGGERS THE MIND, AND THAT WAS JUST ONE SMALL SHIP TRANSPORTING
ONE SMALL AMOUNT OF GOLD FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER ACROSS THE WHOLE
PLANET. WHAT
A CONTRAST IT IS, FROM NOT SO LONG AGO, WHAT 250 - 300 YEARS, WHEN GOLD
CIRCULATED THE EARTH IN COINS BY THE MILLIONS, AND WAS EVEN PLATED ON
FURNITURE, BUILDINGS AND SUCH. MY
DAD TOLD ME HIS FIRST JOB WAS TO WORK ON THE STATE CAPITAL DOME AND THEY
PLACED REAL GOLD LEAF ON IT AND IT WASN'T LIKE THE THIN STUFF OF TODAY. IN

THE APPOINTMENTS, ON THE BURIAL CHAMBER, AND ON THE THREE CASCADING
CASKETS WHERE THE KING WAS BURIED. I
FORGET HOW MUCH IT ALL WEIGHED, BUT IN TODAY'S TERMS IT WOULD BE WORTH
MULTI - MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, JUST FOR THE GOLD VALUE ALONE, AND FRIENDS,
THAT WAS JUST ONE OF THE SMALLER TOMBS, THAT HADN'T BEEN PILLAGED, OF THE
MANY THAT WERE IN THE VALLEY OF

PORTRAYED BABYLON AS THE HEAD OF GOLD IN PROPHECY - truly SHE WAS THE LAST
OF HER KIND"
THIS GREAT CITY OF GOLD, WAS NOT ONLY KNOWN FOR ITS WONDERS, BUT
WAS THE FIRST WORLD EMPIRE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
NEBUCHADNEZZAR WAS THE FIRST KING TO HAVE CONQUERED THE THEN KNOWN
WORLD COMPLETELY UNDER HIS SUBJECTION, AND YOU BEST BELIEVE HE BROUGHT ALL
OF THE WORLDS STOLEN GOLD INTO HIS CITIES TREASURE. Prosperity
attended the nation until it reached a height of wealth and power that has
never since been equaled-- fitly represented in the Scriptures by the

HAVE SUPPORTED THE BIBLICAL WRITINGS ABOUT THAT GREAT CITY OF
NEBUCHADNEZZAR, THAT IT TRULY WAS THE GOLDEN CITY, OF THE GOLDEN KINGDOM,
OF A GOLDEN AGE NEVER TO BE REPEATED NOR SEEN AGAIN.
THE
GREAT CITY OF BABYLON RAISED UP IN SITE OF THE OLD TOWER OF BABAL
THE TEMPLE OF BELUS IN THE CITY WAS ITSELF THREE MILES IN
CIRCUMFERENCE, ITS TWO ROYAL PALACES, ONE THREE AND ONE HALF, AND THE
OTHER EIGHT MILES IN CIRCUMFERENCE. A
SUBTERRANEAN TUNNEL UNDER THE RIVER EUPHRATES CONNECTED THESE TWO PALACES. THIS
CITY IS STILL THE ONLY CITY KNOWN BY MAN TO BE INPENETRABLE THAT COULD

RIVER EUPHRATES ENTERED AND EMERGED INTO THE CITY PASSING UNDER IT'S
IMMENSE WALLS, AND GREAT PILES WERE DRIVEN DOWN INTO THE RIVER ONLY
ALLOWING ENOUGH SPACE FOR WATER TO PASS ACTING AS GATES AGAINST THE ENEMY.
SOME OF THE PILINGS ONLY EXTENDED DOWN ABOUT HALF WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE
RIVER WHICH AT THAT POINT WAS 300 FEET DEEP, THIS THEN WAS THE ONLY PLACE
WHERE GARRISONS WERE NEEDED IN THE UNLIKELY HOOD ANYONE COULD FATHOM THE
150 FEET TO GO UNDER THE PILING'S, BUT IT WAS HEAVILY GUARDED ON THAT
UNLIKELY ACCOUNT, CONSIDERING, ANY
SIZABLE AMOUNT OF THE ENEMY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TREAD WATER LONG ENOUGH
TO MAKE A successful
ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE CITY BEFORE THEY WERE BOWED DOWN. THUS

MAGNIFICENT", WHICH SEEMED TO BE ABLE TO LAST FOREVER.

CONCEIVED NOR BUILT, GOD PREDICTED THAT A MAN WOULD BE BORN WITH THE NAME
OF "CYRUS" OF THE PERSIAN LINE THAT WOULD COME ON THE HISTORICAL
SCENE, AND OVERTHROW THIS GREAT IMMORTAL FORTRESS CITY WHICH WAS THE HEAD
OF THE GREAT EMPIRE OF BABYLON. YOU
CAN READ ABOUT THAT PREDICTION IN THE BOOK OF ISAIAH THE PROPHET; WHERE
YOU CAN READ ALSO HOW; GOD KEPT SENNACHERIB FROM DESTROYING JERUSALEM,
EVEN THOUGH HE WAS AT THE DOORS, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. YOU CAN ALSO
READ HOW GOD ALLOWED NEBUCHADNEZZAR TO CONQUER "HIS GOLDEN
CITY", AND SET UP HIS KINGDOM ONLY TO BE OVERTHROWN BY CYRUS, ALL
PREDICTED IN ADVANCE BY GOD. Thus
saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am
the LORD that maketh all thing ; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone;
that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself, That
frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth
wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; That
confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his
messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the
cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places

THE TIME OF CYRUS CAME ON THE HISTORICAL SCENE, AND HE AND HIS ALLIES, THE
MEDES, WERE GATHERED OUTSIDE THE CITY OF BABYLON, LOOKING UP AT HER
UNSCALEABLE WALLS, THE PEOPLE OF BABYLON WERE OF COURSE LOOKING DOWN ON
THEIR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SOLDIERS FROM THEIR THREE HUNDRED FEET HIGH
FORTRESS, AND THEY SCOFFED AT THEM AND WENT BACK INTO THEIR UNFORGETTABLE
CITY TO HAVE A SLEEPFULL
AND PEACEFUL REST KNOWING THE MEDES AND THE PERSIANS COULD ENCAMP OUTSIDE
THE CITY (AS THEY USED TO DO until THE FOOD RAN OUT INSIDE) THEY KNEW THE
ENEMY COULD BE THERE FOREVER WITH NO HOPE OF GETTING INSIDE, SO THEY WERE
SAFE. BUT
FRIENDS, UNBEKNOWN TO THEM, GOD HAD PREDICTED THEIR DEFEAT.
THIS IS KIND OF LIKE US TODAY, WE LIVE AS IF WE ARE DOING THE WILL
OF GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE IS OURS, WHEN ALL ALONG JUST AS IN THE TIME OF
BABYLON, THE PROPHECIES HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY FOR US, AND ABOUT US AND OUR
WORSHIP PRACTICES, BUT WE IGNORE THEM TO OUR ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION.
THIS I BELIEVE IS WHY GOD CHOSE BABYLON AS THE NAME OF THE
SPIRITUAL CHURCH IN THE END OF TIME, WHO WILL APPEAR TO BE GOLD, BUT WILL
NOT ALLOW ITSELF TO BE REFINED BY HER CREATOR THE GOD OF THE S-ABBA-TH. BABYLON'S
TIME HAD COME, AND NOW AS IMPOSSIBLE AS IT MAY HAVE BEEN FOR CYRUS TO
CONQUER HER, GODS WORD NEVER GOES OUT IN VAIN, NOR COMES BACK TO HIM VOID,
AND THAT IS WHY PROPHECY GIVES US HOPE, FOR JUST AS HE PREDICTED THE WORLD
EMPIRES RISING AND FALLING, AS BABYLON, AND JUST AS THEY DID SO WITH
ABSOLUTE ACCURACY, HE ALSO PREDICTS ETERNAL LIFE FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE HIS
PAST AND HIS FUTURE. TODAY,
WE STAND ON THE TOP OF OUR TECHNOLOGY AND ACHIEVEMENTS, AS DID BABYLON,
AND THIS HAS US HYPNOTIZED INTO THINKING THERE IS A FUTURE.
BUT IT'S ALL FOR NOT FRIENDS, AND EVEN THE SCIENCE TELLS US WE ARE
HEADING FOR IMMINENT DESTRUCTION WHETHER BY FUEL DEPLETION, OR RADIATION,
NATURAL OR ARTIFICIAL. AND
THEY SAY THESE THINGS; NOT IN HYPOTHETICAL PHRASES, BUT IN ABSOLUTE
REALITIES THAT WE ARE GOING TO FACE IN OUR NEAR STATE. BUT
FROM THE PAST WE CAN HAVE A REAL FUTURE, AND THIS IS WHY I AM TELLING YOU
THESE HISTORICAL ACCOUNTS, IN HOPES THAT IT WILL STIR YOUR DESIRE TO GO
FOR THE "REAL FUTURE" IN LIEU OF THEORY. HIS
ONLY CHANCE WAS A RIVER ENTRANCE, BUT THE ONLY WAY HE COULD DO THIS WAS TO
DIVERT THE WATER FLOW AND ENTER INTO THE CITY UNDER THE GATES (JUST AS GOD
SAID HE WOULD). TIMING WOULD
BE OF THE ESSENCE, AND GOD OF COURSE WAS WORKING HERE TOO, AND
BECAUSE BABYLON HAD FORSOOK, AS SOME TODAY, THEIR REALITIES AND
FUTURE, AND WENT WITH THEIR OWN SELF MADE DESTINIES, AND RELIGIONS,
BABYLON WAS TO MEET THE REAL GOD. SHE
OF COURSE WAS UNAWARES, EXCEPT IT BE FOR THE PROPHET DANIEL WITHIN HER
WALLS, BUT HE HAD BEEN CAST ASIDE, UNNEEDED until THE HAND WRITING WAS ON
THE WALL. IN
THE KIND OF DECADENCE BABYLON HAD SLIPPED INTO, COMES ALL THAT ATTENDS IT,
DRUNKENNESS, PRESUMPTION, AND A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY,
BROUGHT ON BY WHAT WE THINK IS OUR TECHNOLOGICAL AND RELIGIOUS
EXPERTISE, JUST LIKE TODAY, BABYLON THE GREAT WAS TO MAKE HER LAST
MISTAKE. CYRUS
KNEW THAT IT WAS ABOUT TIME FOR A HOLIDAY WHEN A CUSTOM OF "PARTY
DOWN", AS USUAL WOULD PREVAIL, AND THE GUARDS AT THE RIVER WOULD BE
DRUNK AND VULNERABLE. SO,
AT THE ONSET OF THE PARTY HE SENT TROOPS TO DIVERT THE RIVER UPSTREAM, AND
TROOPS AT EACH END WHERE THE RIVER WENT INTO THE CITY AND OUT.
WHEN THE WATER WENT DOWN HUNDREDS OF FEET THEY WENT IN UNDER THE
WALL AND CONQUERED THE GREAT PRESUMPTUOUS CITY OF BABYLON. Prosperity
attended the nation (BABYLON) until it reached a height of wealth and
power that has never since been equaled-- fitly represented in the
Scriptures by the inspired symbol, a "head of gold." Daniel

the king failed of recognizing the power that had exalted him.
Nebuchadnezzar in the pride of his heart said: "Is not this great
Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my
power, and for the honor of my majesty?" Daniel 4:30.
{Ed 175.5} Instead
of being a protector of men, Babylon became a proud and cruel oppressor.
The words of Inspiration picturing the cruelty and greed of rulers in
Israel reveal the secret of Babylon's fall and of the fall of many another
kingdom since the world began: "Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you
with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. The
diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was
sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye
brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that
which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them."
Ezekiel 34:3, 4. {Ed 176.1} To
the ruler of Babylon came the sentence of the divine Watcher: O king,
"to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee."
Daniel 4:31.

For thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms."

it would fulfill the purpose of "the Watcher and the Holy One."
Prophecy has traced the rise and fall of the world's great
empires--Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. With each of these, as
with nations of less power, history repeated itself. Each had its period
of test, each failed, its glory faded, its power departed, and its place

WE CONCLUDE OUR LOOK AT THE GOLDEN CITY, REPRESENTING THE GOLDEN HEAD OF
THE IMAGE GOD USED TO SHOW US HIS CONTROL OVER HISTORY, MAY WE BEGIN TO
REALIZE THAT AS THE STATUE STOOD UPRIGHT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, REPRESENTING
THE KINGDOMS THAT WOULD COME UPON THE EARTH until WE REACH THE BOTTOM THE
FEET, AND THEN "WHAT IS LEFT" IN GODS PREDICTIONS ?
ONLY THAT A GREAT STONE, REPRESENTING THE SECOND coming OF JESUS,
WILL BREAK THE IMAGE FINALLY, AND IN TIME, SET UP HIS EVERLASTING KINGDOM. WILL
WE BE A PART OF THAT KINGDOM IS THE QUESTION ?

WE KNOW WHERE WE ARE IN TIME ACCORDING TO PROPHECY ? DOES
GOD PREDICT WHO THOSE KINGDOMS OF THE FEET ARE, AND WHAT THEY WILL BE LIKE
WHEN IT GETS TO THE END OF TIME ? YES,
